mylife Loopers starts the summer together
They are called "The Diabetic Duo", "laurajanebull" and "diagranny" regularly write about their life with diabetes. From July 6 to 7, bloggers from all over Europe were guests at Ypsomed in Solothurn. They were joined by our colleagues from the subsidiaries, who also visited us. The event ended with the St. Peter at Sunset Festival as the highlight on Friday evening. We look back on two wonderful summer days.
Around 50 guests from all over Europe visited us: these included people living with diabetes who shared stories on the Internet about their lives with diabetes and the associated products. In addition, we invited our colleagues from the subsidiaries to join us at the mylife Diabetescare Community Event. The exchange in the community during the two days was intense and we were very pleased that people with diabetes and our colleagues came together in one place – to enjoy the summer together.
Focus on diabetes
After the guests arrival, the program started on Thursday afternoon with a workshop for the invited influencers. They discussed how artificial intelligence applications could be useful in daily diabetes management. Sebastien Delarive, Chief Business Officer Diabetes Care, then invited the mylife community to a joint dinner.
On Friday morning, a group visited the heart of our YpsoPump production in Burgdorf. Some participants were surprised that many steps in the pump production are still done by hand. But this is how we ensure the high quality of the YpsoPump and help to make self-treatment simpler and easier. The second group took a guided tour of the baroque city of Solothurn on Friday morning – focusing on the number 11 and St. Ursen Cathedral.
The highlight of the event followed in the afternoon: the St. Peter at Sunset Festival with Emili Sandé as the main act in the evening. Ypsomed was a Gold Sponsor of the festival and thus everyone could benefit from an experience as VIP guests: free food and drinks at their own Ypsomed booth, a visit to the backstage area and the best seats on an elevated VIP grandstand.
Here the guests mingled with each other and it was the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better. Marius Bear and Emili Sandé rounded off a very successful mylife Community Event, the mood was relaxed and there was exuberant dancing.
Despite having diabetes, the guests always met us with a smile on their faces, sometimes with their smartphones in hand to keep an eye on their glucose levels. The myLoop users spoke very positively about our latest development in diabetes therapy and thanked us several times for this solution.
We would also like to thank all participants for the exciting insights into their world with diabetes.
